- Enhance the Flavor
Impress your customers by enhancing the flavor of your dishes with sea water.
Did you know that world-renowned chefs like Ferran Adrià and Ángel León use sea water to define, enhance, and preserve the natural flavor of foods, while also providing direct benefits to both the consumer and your business?
The use of sea water in cooking is as ancient as fishing. However, it is a tradition that has been lost over time for various reasons, along with the precise methods for using it for different dishes, recipes, or purposes. We will explain this in more detail below.
Before that, let’s summarize some other valuable information you should know and consider if you decide to incorporate this ingredient into your kitchen:
- BENEFITS
Advantages of seawater
Among the many advantages that sea water offers, we highlight:
- Sea water contains a wide variety of minerals from the periodic table. It is a great substitute for table salt (NaCl) due to its mineral content. It is particularly rich in magnesium, calcium, potassium, chloride, and sodium.
- 100% natural. It contains no additives, organic residues, or chemicals, unlike table salt.
- Helps maintain the body's pH balance, with antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties.
- It is the most alkaline natural element in the world. This helps the body stay hydrated at the cellular level.
- A formula stabilizer, flavor enhancer, and natural preservative. A great ally for creating gourmet products.
- HOSPITALITY PACKAGING
Ideal packaging for hospitality and catering
If you own a restaurant or a bakery, we have created a special 1,000-liter container. It allows for significant cost reduction and greater flexibility. It comes with a built-in tap.
But we also offer 20-liter containers if you need to use sea water for a specific recipe or particular food.
- SEAWATER PROPORTIONS
Proper use of seawater in fine dining
Cooking fish is not the same as cooking rice or vegetables. Therefore, it’s crucial to know the precise proportions for each type of food, though these can always be adjusted to individual taste. You can use the diagram on the left as a guide.
Remember that we have two types of sea water. Sometimes it will be necessary to dilute them, and other times it will not:
- Hypertonic: 100% sea water
- Isotonic: 25% sea water and the rest is fresh water.
